One day, you’re 17 and you’re planning for someday. And then quietly, without you ever really noticing, someday is today. And then someday is yesterday. And this is your life.

Perfectly Unexpected: My First Month of Internship

A month ago, I was scared because my very first month as an intern will be spent at East Avenue Medical Center. Based on the stories of the previous batches who went and had their internship in that center, they didn’t really enjoy as much as they did in other centers because they had lots of patients, paper works and all that stuff. At first I was saying to myself that it would only be for a month and I have to endure every shit that may come.

First three days of my stay went like three years. At first, I felt that I would not really enjoy my first month. I tried not to be attached to the people around me — the staff and most especially my co-interns. I was always just in one corner try to isolate myself from them. I felt bad because I know all of them are trying to reach out to each other but there I was, creating a huge wall around me. Eventually, they made me feel so comfortable and I started talking and fooling around with them. It felt so nice that these kind of people whom I never thought I’d be with will leave a special mark in my heart. We got along so well, had fun together, had inside jokes, had memorable experiences, had few but awesome grand duties, and then suddenly we realized that our one-month rotation already ended. It’s true that time flies so fast, especially when you’re with people who makes hours into seconds just because you enjoyed so much being with each other. Even though we’re already not in the same place, we still try to keep in touch and that only proves that the friendship that we had at EAMC was real and unforgettable. I would miss everything about EAMC — the pseudotoxic days, the background songs that were played everyday (EAMC is cool like that, they even play “Starship” on the background), the laughtrips, enjoying the experience dealing with patients, the staff, and of course my co-interns.

Chicken lang naman talaga ito. Nag-inarte lang. Kudos to my kuya who initiated this food shot. And kudos to my mom who cooked the fried chicken really well. And kudos to me who posted this. LOL.
